Insanity done...

OK, so I didn't blog much about round 2 of Insanity. But I did complete the entire 60 day workout again. I really do feel like I get a kick butt workout. However, I think I end up eating too much each day because I justify all the calories I have burned... and I was running a little in the mornings before doing the videos, just to wake me up a little. All in all another great workout.

I have started (courtesy of Tymon Gilliland) the Les Mills Pump workouts.

I have been completing the workouts for about 3 weeks now.  The "Rep Affect" is the key to Les Mills Pump. Mix high reps, with moderate weights and kickin' music and you have a fat burning-muscle building workout that is sure to keep you going.

You lift weights 3 days a week and then there are days when it suggests walking 30-45 minutes. I have either run outside or on the elliptical machine. I feel really good each day, but I have to admit that I have felt weird taking days to just complete a flow (stretch/recovery) workout when I am so used to pushing it real hard 6 days a week. There is a fabulous meal/diet plan that comes with the videos. We have started to implement more yummy fruits and veggies into our diet and some actually pretty good vegan recipes! And Dr. Oz has several smoothies that we have been trying too. We are also using a protein powder and glutemin recovery after each workout to help limit the muscle soreness. I am looking forward to the next several months...

Team World Vision

Alright, cross country season has drawn to a close, and I have started my next fitness project... however this one has a pretty great purpose.

I have signed up for another 1/2 marathon run in January so I started training this week. I will be running the LA 1/2 marathon on January 15th.I will be participating with a non-profit organization called, "Team World Vision." They provide water, food, clothing, education etc to those in need. Mostly to third world countries, but even to parts of America.

My family and I currently sponsor a little girl named, Sarah Atoo. She lives in Africa, she is 8 years old. (There is a picture of her on my world vision fundraising page). Yes, I am trying to raise some money for this great cause, and it is great. Every $50 raised provides clean water for a person in Sarah's village for life. My goal is $50 per mile. There is no penalty for not fundraising my goal, but what a great (and personal) cause!

If you are interested in sponsoring a child (it is $35 a month) or would like to make a tax deductible donation, OR join my team, please click the link above.

This was my first week of training. My goal is to complete 13.1 miles in one hour and thirty five minutes... which means I must run each mile in under seven minutes and fifteen seconds! Here was my first week of training:

Monday: Cross Training- INSANITY- (yes, my favorite)- Plyometric Cardio Circuit
Tuesday: 10 minute warm up, timed mile, 2 mile, 1/2 mile, 1/2 mile with rest in between each one, 1 mile cool down
Wednesday: Cross Training- INSANITY Cardio Power & Resistance
Thursday: 5 miles at mid-tempo pace (7:45-ish) 1 mile cool down
Friday: Day off
Saturday: 13 mile long run

My training plan is courtesy of Cecilia Ticsay... a fellow team beach body coach and lover of running. :-)

Still drinking Shakeology once a day... usually in the morning... LOVE IT! CHECK OUT SHAKEOLOGY
So there is it, my first week of training... keep checking back for new information about my training!

Some New Stuff

Hey Everyone,
Been a little while since my last post. I am also a cross country coach at Murrieta Valley High School and we started summer training this week (http://mvhsxc.blogspot.com). I have changed up my workouts a little bit. I now run 6 days a week (minimum of 4 miles a day) so I have put Turbo Fire on hold. Running is going to be my main cardiovascular workouts because it burns so many more calories than the videos. However, it is important to tone and sculpt so I will be making daily visits to the Bum Bum station to work out with Leandro (Brazil Butt).

Fit Club-
I am starting a fit club at my house on Tuesday nights. It actually starts tonight! The weather outside is beautiful right now! We will work out at 7pm each Tuesday that I am available. Tonight's workout will more than likely be a Insanity video...

Free T-Shirt
Speaking of Insanity, I received my free T-shirt for completing the 60 day Insanity program and submitting my before and after photos and results! It is a really soft one of a kind shirt. I plan on video blogging some information tomorrow about Shakeology, so I'll show it off. :-)

Powdered Peanut Butter
OK, so I finally got my hands on some powdered peanut butter. I had to order it online, but I am going to start using it tomorrow! It has 45 calories per 2 tablespoon serving instead of 190 calories and it has less sugar and fat. Here is the link, http://www.bellplantation.com but I will talk more about it tomorrow afternoon on my video blog.

Have a great Tuesday everyone!
